1 Corinthians Reading Plan

Growing Pains

1 Corinthians is a letter written to a growing church in Corinth in the first century. This young network of dinner churches is working through things as they mature in Christ - growing pains. Growing pains hurt; they are full of tension, and we want to just avoid them until they go away - but they are also signs of growth and necessary in building capacity in the body. We grow through embracing and leaning into tension. In 1 Corinthians, Paul is writing this group of dinner churches to remind them of some essential truths as they grow through the tensions they face - love, resurrection, the power of the spirit, and more.

As we touch on these growing pains through our teaching and discussion at brunch church feb-march we invite you to read and dwell more deeply in this letter. We ask you to notice what God is saying through the text, what questions come up for you, and what growing pains God is pointing out in you.
